Our organization follows the European tradition and complies with the Ukrainian law on charitable organizations. In our working structure we aim to keep a very small administrative overhead, so that donations and sponsoring will be used for the projects and not for administrative costs. Ukrainian law also requires that at least 80 % of all donations must be used for the goals and projects of the organization. Only 20% of the donated money which the organization receives may be used for administrative expenses and salaries. The Osviton organization consists of the following organizational bodies : - Members convention - Supervisory Board - Administrative management, Directors - General administrative department - Work departments - Advisory and support councils Members convention : The members convention is the highest legal body of the organization. It meets once a year and has the following powers : • Vote on the statutes of the organization, change or amend them. • Elect or dismiss the administrative management and the supervisory board • Decide on the charitable projects • Determine the main activities of the organization • Elect the chairman of the annual convention • Review and confirm the results of the yearly management activity and the reports and findings of the supervisory board. • Decide on the creation of branch chapters and representations. • Decide about membership to other organizations and associations. Supervisory Board The supervisory board consists of 3 persons who are elected by the members convention for a term of 2 years. They meet at least once every 3 months and have the following tasks : • To review and confirm the year-end reports of the administartive management. • To analyse the work of the administration and the directors under the aspect of fullfillment of the tasks and goals of the organization • To review the financial-economic situation of the organization and to initiate spezial revisions if they so deem necessary. • To submit proposals connected to the work of the organization to the members convention. • To controll the proper use of the property, assets and means which have been given to the organization or acquired by it. • To control the work of the Directors and administration. The supervisory board has the right : • To receive all information about the work of the organization. • To receive reports from the administration, the directors, managers and employees concerning individual aspects of the activities of the organization. • To have experts analyse individual aspects of the organizartions activities. • To report to the members convention about the actual work of the organization. Administrative management, Directors Ukrainian law requires that each charitable not-for-profit organization shall have a professional administrative management, which shall consist of at least a director and a qualified accountant. We fullfill these requirements. In the future, as the number and complexity of the projects increases we plan to have 3 directors with different functions : - Administrative / Organizational - Technical - Financial We think that this separation will best ensure the proper functioning of the organization. General administrative department The general administrative department ensures the secretarial and clercical work. Work departments The work departments will be staffed according to the progress and workload of the projects which are in work. We have defined a structure which will ensure a good work on the current and future projects. To learn more about the working structure, click here Advisory and support councils Advisory and support councils are meant to combine professionals with certain skills so that they may support the work of OSVITON in a general or specific way. The participation of these professionals in the councils is voluntary and is a donation of time and talent to OSVITON. At present we have defined 5 councils : 1. Educational 2. Scientific 3.
